1 Nephi 9 - 1 Nephi 15

  1. The vision of the tree of life is one of my favorite sections in the BOM. It really is a fantastic study of life and the reality of our journey back home.

"Hold ye to the rod of iron. It is strong and right and true. The iron rod is the word of God, t'will safely guide you through." There are really good talks on the iron rod from Elder Bednar and Elder Wirthlin that I really love.

  2. I found a hint of sarcasm in Nephi's description of those who inhabit that great and spacious building in 1 Nephi 11:25.
" Behold the world and the wisdom thereof: yea, behold the house of Israel hath gathered together to fight against the twelve apostles if the Lamb."
Why do we try so foolishly and vainly to become part of that world?
    Who wants it?

  3. I love the vision of the tree of life! It is one that is so descriptive and so easy to follow. The Lord pieced it together so beautifully as to our role and his role in the this journey.

A Verse that stuck out to me was Nephi 1 10:2 That after they should be destroyed, even that great city Jerusalem, and many be carried away captive into Babylon, according to the own due time of the Lord, they should return again, yea, even be brought back out of captivity; and after they should be brought back out of captivity they should possess again the land of their inheritance.....I'm sure after the destruction of Jerusalem many jews were disbanded and or taken captive. This is so evident during WWII. Where the jews were in fact held captive and many parrished. Following that, many returned to the holy land which was the land of their inheritance. The Lord showed Lehi, who shared with Nephi, then Nephi wrote it, and Joseph smith, hundreds of years later translated something that wouldn't happen for another hundred years. How could anyone doubt the truth of the church.
